About Us

The family-run Gallery Helen was opened in August 2020, and is located in the picturesque surroundings of South Bohemia, in close proximity to the tourist attractive Červená Lhota moated castle. The front garden of the gallery is enhanced with a sculpture of Paris by the Swedish sculptor Lars Widenfalk.

The gallery focuses on the presentation of works by leading Czech glass artists, painters, graphic artists, photographers and creators from other fields of art from all generations.

It organizes authorial and thematic exhibitions of a commercial and non-commercial nature, concerts, workshops, lectures, soirées of poetry and discussions with artists and other personalities from the cultural community.

The wish of the proprietors of the gallery is to facilitate beautiful and inspiring gatherings of art enthusiasts and thus become a timeless institution for higher principles, friendship, knowledge and aesthetic experiences.

A Look inside the Gallery

The intimate atmosphere of the cellar from the first half of the 17th century with its cross vaults and brick paving inspired us in the first half of 2020 to commence an extensive reconstruction to build a family-run gallery near the romantic castle and enrich this unique place with another cultural experience.

Events and Exhibitions

The 2025 exhibition season at Galerie Helen has started!

For the fifth time, we invite you to our family gallery for the opening of the exhibition season. This August, we are celebrating the 5th anniversary of our founding. Many of you have already seen the unmistakable atmosphere of the Gallery Helen, which is contributed by the genius loci.

This year too, you will not be deprived of meeting with works of art by various leading Czech artists.

We will mention just a few, for example, Radu Tesar, who spends her free time in Southern Bohemia and, as she herself says, “I really enjoy painting here…”.

The fragments of Jan Paul are inspired by his stay in China and are painted with fingers, just as many artists once did.
The paintings of Martina Fojtů represent a narrow selection from several periods of the author’s creative activity.

Our gallery is also enriched by two paintings by the artist Zdenka Skořepová from Jindřichův Hradec.

The painting by Lukas Cranach, which is a sample copy of the leading medieval Dutch painter, is breathtaking. In her other painting, Venetian Night, the symbolism of time and transience appears.

The collection of paintings also includes poetically tuned paintings by Boris Eibl and many other artists.

The gallery features traditional glassworks by Tomáš Hlavička, ceramics by Šárka Radová, stained glass and jewelry by Jitka Kantová, graphics by Josef Hampl, Jiří Mézl, photographs by Miroslav Huck, Pavel Kopp and Hana Hamplová.

Also of interest are the wire figurative sculptures by Zbyněk Fojtů, in which he expresses a person’s personal feelings and psychological states of the soul.
